About the event
After a 3 year break, we're delighted to be re-establishing "HeART of the Matter", our popular series of lively, inspiring and creatively-fuelled Speaker and Discussion events in County Durham.
Funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation through their "Arts Access & Participation" programme, "Turning the Hourglass" will see an afternoon of lively debate, conversation, stories and discussions on the role that arts, culture, creativity and heritage can play in inspiring communities to challenge existing power structures and influence decision-making. We'll be challenging assumptions and asking "so what?" when it comes to investing in places and communities.
The event will include networking opportunities, round table discussions, panel speakers and a chance to contribute to an original shared creative installation with artist, Sara Cox.
Panel speakers include:
Clare Tyman, co-founder, Local
Clare Kiely, Managing Director, On Our Radar
Edward Perry, CEO, The Auckland Project
Alison Clark, Head of Culture, Tourism & Sport, Durham County Council
