Louise Kelly

Northern Heartlands was founded in 2017, with Jill Cole as our first director.

Her leadership rooted the organisation in its commitment to artists working deeply in communities over time - a foundation we continue to build from.

Our Board

Graham Young, Chair

Graham was one of the founders of Fair Trade and the first chair of the Board of The Fairtrade Foundation. He was the founding Director of Traidcraft Exchange and has been an interim Director of various organisations. He has been a leading strategist in the development of Fair Trade in the UK and the movement globally. He has extensive Board experience.

He was chair of the Heart of Teesdale Landscape Partnership and the Northern Heartlands Great Place Scheme, which were the forerunners to Northern Heartlands CIO.
